Throughout October 2020 our Online History Cafe Sessions will be looking at Witchhunts in Renfrewshire. We kick off on Thursday 1st October at 7.30pm with a look at lesser known cases in Renfrewshire, and the following week will begin a 5 part session looking at the 1696 Bargarran Witchhunt. Rather than looking at the case as sequential story, the sessions will focus on the people involved – who were the Shaw family, the accused, the invesitgators and other people associated with the cases. The final session will attempt to put the events is 1696/97 into context in the historical setting.

We are currently updating the History Cafe page on the website, to add each weekly cafe. you can attend individual sessions for £5 each, or as a special offer you can book all 6 in the witches series for £25 – 6 Sessions for the price of 5.

We will be able to accept bookings from Tuesday, 22nd September 2020.
