A new year and a return to in-person talks and courses and a new venue!

Our first short course for 2021 is Beginners Genealogy. Over 4 weeks we will look at how to start your family history by talking to relatives and how to then record the information. We then move on to how to find birth, marriage and death records using civil documents such as Birth, Marriage & Death certificates and old parish registers. We will also cover other types of documents found on the ScotlandsPeople website such as wills and session records.

We will be meeting on a Monday night in the Session House of Paisley St George’s Church on Causeyside Street between 7 and 9pm. St George’s church has an interesting heritage with the churches now making up the modern congregation having once covered 50% of the Parishes in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. During the course we will have the opportunity to consult some of the congregational records that have been digitised.

The course starts on Monday 24th January 2022 7 – 9pm

The 4 week course costs £60 Book Now via PayPal – no account required.
