Free South Church Church Causeyside Street

This heritage walk explores the history of some of the churches of Paisley, Today, the churches of Paisley are undergoing numerous name changes as Church of Scotland Parishes merge – but this is not something new, it has been happening for many years. This walk will start at the recently formed Paisley St George’s Causeyside (on Causeyside St) which has undergone numerous name changes over the years starting out as the Free South Church, then St Andrews, followed by the Laigh Kirk and latterly as Stow Brae Kirk. The walk will look at the reasons behind the changes and explore some of the outer lying religious buildings that are now redundant.
