January Update – 4th Jan 4.15pm

Following the announcement today that Scotland will return to a full lockdown from midnight on the 4th January, I have decided to maintain the series of Walking Tours as Virtual Walking Tours until at least mid February. Hopefully the situation will resolve itself and real heritage walks can begin again in a limited way later in February.

In the meantime I have just added the virtual walks for January to the website – We will be exploring: Hidden Paisley, and the textile heritage of the town through two new walks – ‘The Threads of Paisley’ and Ferguslie Mills. Full details can be found on the Heritage Walks Page. All walks remain £7 per Household during the lockdown.

Our Online History Cafe Sessions will begin again on Wednesday 20th January at 2pm on Zoom. The initial Session will look at Peter Burnet – Paisley’s first and possibly only coloured weaver from Virginia. Details are on the History Talks page. History Cafe Sessions are £5.

Later this week the series of evening history talks will be published. These will held on a Monday evening at 7.30pm on Zoom.
