The Urban Historian > News > Walk > The Threads of Paisley Heritage Tour – 28 August

Join us on our tour exploring the textile heritage of Paisley, from weaving to line, silk and cotton thread making. This tour starts at Sma’ Shot Cottages on Sma’ Shot Lane (not on Shuttle Street). We then head through the town finishing close to the Anchor Cotton Thread works of Clark & Co, who later merged with J & P Coats creating the worlds largest cotton thread manufacting company in the world at the time.

The walk will cover industries connected to textiles including dying, Calender works, scouring works and Dye Wood Mills.
