Renfrewshire Witches
The first of our witch hunt themed Cafes will look at some 17th Century cases that appear in the Scottish Privy Council Records and are not well know of in the County. We will look at the likes of George Semple a sometime Preacher, accused in 1630 of being a a practitioner and teacher/ consulter in witchcraft.

The Bargarran Witch Hunt of 1696-97: Part 1 – The Shaws
The first session in the Bargarran witch hunt will look at the Shaw family. Who were John Shaw and Christian McGilchrist? Who were their children? Where did they live? what did they do? The witch hunt will also be introduced.

This session will look at those who were accused of tormenting Christian Shaw. Again we will look at who they were, where they were from, their status in life and who their relatives were.

The Bargarran Witchhunt of 1696-97: Part 3 – The accused, Part 2
In the dsecond part of our look at those accusewd, we will look at what they were accused off, and surprisingly it is more than just tormenting Christian Shaw through witchcraft. I will leave it to this session before telling ore!
