Lets discover Paisley’s textile heritage using the mid 19th Century Town Plans.
Using maps from the 1850s and earlier, this Workshop explores the extent of Paisley’s textiel heritage at its height, looking at Linen Thread Mills, Dyeworks, Dyewood Mills, Calendar Works, Shawl Warehouses, Shawl Factories and much more – dont forget the Heavy Engineering works that supported all the textile industries.
This workshop will involve standing around the tables to look at the maps, but seats are available for break!
We will meet in Restoration & Creation, 6 Browns Lane, Paisley, PA1 2JH
